This Cookie Policy explains how Circled LLC ("Circled," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on joincircled.com and the Circled in Light community platform at community.joincircled.com (together, "the Platform"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. The two parts of the Platform behave differently, so this Policy describes them separately.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function properly, remember your preferences, or, in some cases, track your activity across sites. Some services also use similar technologies, such as browser storage and small scripts that send information when a page loads. We keep our own use of these technologies to the minimum necessary to run the Platform.
2. Our website, joincircled.com
Our website sets no cookies of its own and loads no analytics or advertising tools.

Our hosting provider receives the technical information every web server receives (your IP address and request details) in order to deliver the pages. This is not a cookie. Our Privacy Policy explains how long it is available to us.
3. Our joining forms
When you submit a joining form on our website, your details are sent to our email provider, Mailchimp. In its response, Mailchimp's server may set the following cookies on its own domain (list-manage.com), not on ours:

4. Our community, community.joincircled.com
The community runs on Mighty Networks, which provides and manages the cookies and similar technologies used there and shows its own cookie notice. That notice offers "necessary only" before any choice, "Accept All", and "Reject All". Signed-in members can change their choice at any time under Personal Settings, Account, Cookie Settings.
4a. Used whatever choice you make in the community's cookie notice
Mighty Networks has confirmed in writing that its own analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics operate at platform level and that a network Host cannot disable or control them.

In our testing, choosing "Reject All" switched all of the items in 4b off again.
4c. The Mighty Networks mobile app may use its own technologies, which are described in Mighty Networks' own privacy policy.
5. Our emails
Emails we send through Mailchimp contain a small image and tracked links that record whether the email was delivered, opened and clicked. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use this.
6. Consent and your choices
Our website, joincircled.com, sets no cookies of its own and loads no analytics or advertising tools, so it does not ask for consent.
In the community, the items in 4a that are strictly necessary (keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, and protecting the community against automated traffic and fraud) are used without asking, because the community cannot work without them. The items in 4b are switched on only if you choose "Accept All" in Mighty Networks' cookie notice, and "Reject All" switches them off. You can change your choice at any time under Personal Settings, Account, Cookie Settings.
Mighty Networks' own analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics and the feature-testing items in 4a run before you make any choice. Mighty Networks operates them at platform level, and Circled cannot switch them off. Mighty Networks uses them to measure and test how the community performs, and Cloudflare describes its analytics as cookieless. We list them here so that you know about them before you use the community.
Circled does not use your personal information to advertise to you. The advertising-related items in 4b are provided by Mighty Networks and stay off unless you choose "Accept All".
7. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you control or delete cookies through their settings. Because some of the items above are needed for the community to work, disabling them may prevent you from logging in. In the community you can change your choice at any time under Personal Settings, Account, Cookie Settings.

If we make material changes to this Policy, we will notify active members.
