FAQ

Everything you need to know.

Is Circled really private?

What you share is visible only to members inside the community; nothing is public, and nothing is searchable by anyone outside the community. Confidentiality is a condition of belonging, written into the Circle Code that every woman agrees to before she joins.

How do I know the women here are real?

The honest answer: no online community can be certain of who is behind a screen, and we won't pretend to be the exception. Two things are simply true of how this community is built. Every new member answers a few questions and is personally approved before joining, which helps keep bots and throwaway accounts out. And your email address is not displayed to other members - nothing about you travels further than where you choose to take it.

Two more layers exist to encourage honesty: every woman answers a short question in her own words before she joins, and membership means agreeing to the Circle Code - our shared understanding that we arrive here honestly and treat each other with care.

The rest works the way trust works everywhere: slowly, and on your terms. You can read quietly for as long as you like, share only what you choose, and let each woman become familiar the way neighbors do - over time. Nobody here is owed your story before you are ready to tell it. Our hope is a loving, trusting community - and we will keep doing our best to encourage exactly that culture.

Can I keep my membership private?

Yes. We do not display your email address or phone number to other members. What you choose to share yourself, a number for your chapter's group chat or an email between new friends, is always yours to give, and only yours. And conversations happen inside the community rather than in your inbox - so nothing about your membership arrives where someone else might see it.

If you would like to be alerted when a message comes in, we suggest turning on push notifications with previews hidden. Your phone will tell you a message has arrived without showing who it is from or what it says.

Some of us are open about being here. Some of us are not ready to be, and that is entirely your business. We would rather offer you the discretion than assume you do not need it.

Do I have to use my first name?

A first name is all we need, because that is how real connection starts. The sign-up form does ask for a last name too (this is a requirement of the Mighty Networks platform, not ours). If you are uncomfortable using your last name, we suggest a single initial. We have no way to verify identities. How you are known here is your choice; everything beyond your first name and city is yours to share or keep.

What actually happens after I sign up?

There is nothing to pay and no trial. Once your membership is approved, your complimentary membership simply begins. You enter the community at community.joincircled.com and set up your account. You can access the platform on any browser or in the Mighty Networks app. A welcome note from me follows by email. Nothing is scheduled. Come as you are.

I already use Mighty Networks for another community - can I sign in with that account?

No. Circled in Light runs on Mighty Networks, but each community there has its own separate login. You will create a new login for Circled in Light even if you already have a Mighty account for another community. You can use the same email address, it takes about two minutes, and your other communities are not affected. To sign in, go to community.joincircled.com in your browser and click Sign In.

Is this a dating site?

No. This is not about finding a partner. It is about building a full life and real friendships in this chapter, exactly as you are.

Is this therapy or professional support?

No, and I say that with care. Circled is a peer community: women who have lived it, walking beside each other. We do not diagnose, treat, or provide expert advice. If you are in crisis, please reach for professional support: in the US, call or text 988.

Can I promote my business, service, or fundraiser here?

No. Circled is not a marketplace, and this is one of the few firm rules we have.

You are welcome to talk about your work. Changing careers, starting something, what you learned when you did, all of that is what this space is for. What you cannot do is turn it into a pitch. A woman can say “I am thinking of changing careers.” She cannot follow it with “here is my link, please buy.”

So there is no advertising, no selling, no recruiting, no affiliate or referral links, no multi-level marketing or direct sales, no collecting names as leads, and no asking members for donations. This applies everywhere: posts, comments, profiles, Local Chapters and private messages. A private message is not a way around it.

Recommending something you love is different, and always welcome, as long as you have no financial interest in it.

If another member asks you about your work, answer her privately. That is her invitation, and it covers that conversation only.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates this policy.

What does membership cost?

Nothing. Membership is complimentary. There is no membership fee, no card required, and no trial that turns into a subscription.

Our aim is to keep CIRCLED as accessible as possible and to keep membership complimentary. If anything ever needs to change, we will tell members in advance. No one would ever be moved into a paid membership without choosing it.

Those who wish to support CIRCLED may do so voluntarily. Financial support is entirely separate from membership and does not affect access, privileges, or standing in the community.

How do I leave if it's not for me?

You can leave CIRCLED through your account settings. You do not need to email me or ask permission. Because membership is complimentary, there is no membership subscription to cancel or membership charge to stop.

We would rather you join knowing the door opens easily from the inside. That is what makes it safe to walk in.

What if my situation changes?

You keep your membership. Your membership isn't tied to your relationship status: if your life changes, your seat is still yours, and whether to stay is always your choice.

How many women are in a chapter?

A table begins with one woman's invitation, and one gathering is already worthwhile. From there a chapter grows only as far as its own women want it to - some feel complete at six and stay there, and that is theirs to decide, never ours. We believe about twelve is the most a single table can hold and still let every woman be heard. It is not a rule, only what we have found. When a chapter grows past it, it simply makes another table. That is not a limitation; that is how circles work.

Who can see my information?

Only the community sees what you choose to share. Your email is never sold and never shared with advertisers. You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time by writing to privacy@joincircled.com.
